As a result of our demonstration and the media publicity – the Cavi square issue was the main item on BBC Wiltshire radio’s breakfast programme – the council sent round a team from its highways department to examine the drainage at the Square. They excavated a manhole (this was the area which collapsed some years back) of rubbish in order to enable them to do a flow test which might help them decide how they can resolve the drainage issue at the Square.
In relation to the ownership issue (our petition calls on the council to buy back the land currently owned by Lytton Rd Ltd) local councillors are arranging a meeting with council leader David Renard.
We’ll keep you informed of any further developments.
