This is a media release from Linda Fletcher.

Rev Linda Fletcher, Vicar of St John’s, Park’s is encouraging members of the church community to join protestors at Cavendish Square at 10am on Saturday 22nd June.

Rev Linda Fletcher said, “I fully support the call for the Council to take back control of Cavendish Square. Our Community Forum have worked hard for a long time through formal channels to no effect and have exhausted all other avenues to get these problems addressed. I hope many people will come and protest to show Swindon Borough Council how deep our concerns are about the state of Cavendish Square.

David Renard said last week that Cavendish Square “was in a very poor state” prior to major investment. I don’t think he can be aware of the current state of it and so I invite David Renard to visit Cavendish Square with me on a dark, wet night to see the severity of the problems. I recommend he wears wellies due to the flooding, a fluorescent jacket to be safe from vehicles driving onto the pedestrian areas due to broken fences and a torch so that he can see where he’s going and not trip on uneven ground.”
